Once known as the “ships of the desert”, camels are a feature of Rolls-Royce’s new special edition, which has just arrived in the UAE.

Abu Dhabi Motors has taken delivery of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Oasis Edition, a special commission developed by the marque’s Bespoke department to be presented to the brand’s patrons in the Middle East only.

The two-tone exterior in Aurum and Desert Dune Metallic carries an intricate feature line motif depicting a camel train. The desert theme continues throughout the interior. Accents in Fleet Blue are reminiscent of water in an oasis, says Rolls-Royce, while the Bespoke Moccasin Willow Grain leather further allude to the sand dune theme.

Piano Veneer in Moccasin was developed especially for this collection and features golden motif inlays in the passenger panel, door cappings and rear picnic table backs. The rear centre armrest embroidery features a sand dune pattern.

Ghost has been a cornerstone of Rolls-Royce Motor Car’s success around the world since its launch in 2009.

This month, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced its second-highest ever annual sales result in the marque’s 113-year history, up 6 per cent on its 2015 results. A total of 4,011 cars were delivered to customers in more than 50 countries, affirming the brand’s strength and resilience in a year of challenging market conditions for luxury goods worldwide. Despite these challenging market conditions, the Middle East ended the year as the third-largest market in 2016, while Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said the UAE earned the accolade of being home to the highest-selling dealership globally.

“This remarkable result emphatically affirms the global appeal of the very finest British luxury goods to the world’s most discerning patrons,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the motor maker’s chief executive.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Oasis Edition can be viewed in Abu Dhabi Motors showroom at Umm Al Nar, Abu Dhabi.
