Watch Emirati filmmaker Nujoom Al Ghanem’s film Sounds of the Sea, which revolves around an ageing fishing community in the Umm Al Quwain creek. Despite their age, the fishermen hope for one more sea voyage with Saif Alzibadi, to revive the songs of this legendary sea singer. In Arabic with English subtitles. Go to the exhibition Immortals, by Adel Abidin, as the artist returns to painting for the first time since 2003. The show looks at the manufactured nature of Arab media and raises important questions about the role that it has played in shifting geographic boundaries and allegiances.
