The Indian city of Bangalore is home to a new Shangri-La hotel. The 397-room property, which opened late last month, is spread across about two acres and overlooks landmark sites Bangalore Palace and Cubbon Park. Known as the hub of India's information-technology industry, Bangalore is set 900 metres above sea level and is home to historical sites dating back to the noble Indian dynasties. Just 30 minutes from the international airport, Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru is offering an introductory rate that starts from Dh643 per night, including taxes and a Dh170 credit to use on food, beverage or spa services.

A picture perfect stay in Abu Dhabi

Movie nights have taken on a new twist at the St Regis Abu Dhabi with its "Picture Perfect Stay" package, which includes complimentary movie passes to the new Vox cinemas at the adjoining Nation Galleria. Guests looking for a staycation will get the opportunity to stay in a superior room and enjoy the hotel's butler service, breakfast for two and exclusive access to the Nation Riviera Beach Club. The 283-room St Regis Hotel is located right across the road from the Corniche and the Picture Perfect Stay package starts from Dh986 per night, including taxes.

Plan a long weekend in the Maldives

With the National Day long weekend now less than two months away, Flight Centre is offering a three-night stay at the four-star Bandos Island Resort in the Maldives. The deal includes return economy airfares from Dubai, return boat transfers, accommodation and breakfast and dinner. The 215-room Bandos Island Resort is seven kilometres from Malé International Airport, and offers great dining options as well as a selection of leisure activities and an extensive spa menu. The deal is valid for stays between December 2 and December 5, and starts from Dh4,157, including taxes.

New flights to Astana from Flydubai

Flydubai will begin services to Kazakhstan's capital city Astana on October 26, operating four flights a week, making the carrier the first UAE airline to serve this route. These flights are an extension of the services the airline launched last September to Almaty and Shymkent. The new flights between Dubai International Airport and Astana International Airport will operate from Dubai on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and return on the following days. Return economy-class fares from Dubai to Astana start at Dh1,450, including taxes and a 20-kilogram checked-baggage allowance.
