The Miami-based East Coast Film Institute will host a two-day screenwriting and film directing workshop in Dubai on August 22 and 23. The organisers say that the programme is designed primarily for those who are interested in fiction films and will aim to help improve storytelling abilities.
They add: “By default it will teach you to conceptualize and build a film script , we make sure in this workshop to help you use your imagination for unique ideas and transfer these ideas from your mind to actual final draft work. ECFI workshops will let you know everything about performance, director’s job, film grammars, rules, screen direction, cinema language, type of shots, floor plan, shoot list, storyboard, blocking and shooting schedule.”
The workshop costs $500, and deadline for applications is August 15. The institute is further consolidating its presence in the region with a screenwriting workshop in Amman, Jordan, in September. For more details on either workshop, visit www.ecoastfilm.com
