Adele says she will write a new song.

In an interview with a French radio station, Adele revealed she is working on a new tune, reported the NME.

"There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year," she said. "But then it depends how quickly I write some other new songs."

The entertainment website HitFix speculated the release could be the theme song for the forthcoming James Bond movie Skyfall, due for release on November 9.

Adele previously stated she will not release a follow-up to her album 21 for "a good two years".

Alec Baldwin engaged

Alec Baldwin is engaged to his 28-year-old yoga instructor girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, whom he has been dating for a year.

His publicist Matthew Hiltzik made the engagement announcement over Twitter.

Baldwin turned 54 yesterday.

Aishwarya Rai sparks snark on shape

Gossip blogs criticised the Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan for her post-pregnancy shape at a recent appearance at the Dubai World Cup.

"She seems to be in no rush to return to a svelte figure even four months after the birth of her daughter," wrote ApunKaChoice.com, in a post titled "Has Aishwarya Rai gone chubby?"

"Her soft auburn wavy hair helped her look fab, but it sure didn't hide the flab!" posted DailyBhaskar.

"Heavier by five to six kilos at least," wrote BollywoodLife. "We are just concerned seeing her in this state." Does Bachchan deserve such flak for not acting like many Hollywood starlets, out in bikinis weeks after giving birth?

Houston film debuts trailer

The trailer for Whitney Houston's new film was released on Yahoo! Movies on Monday.

A remake of the 1976 original, Sparkle stars Houston as the mother of three girls who form a singing group and struggle with fame and drug addiction. The trailer displayed the daughters, including the American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, in performance. Houston is prominent throughout, at one point singing the classic gospel song His Eye Is on the Sparrow.

The movie is scheduled for release on August 17.

Mad Men calls Romney clown

After the Mad Men character Henry Francis referred to the former Michigan governor George Romney as a "clown", his grandson Tagg, the eldest son of Mitt Romney, tweeted: "Seriously, lib media mocking my dead grandpa?"

In the episode, set in 1966, Francis explained why his boss, the New York mayor John Lindsay, doesn't want to appear in Michigan alongside its governor: "Because Romney's a clown and I don't want him standing next to him."

Tagg said in a follow-up tweet: "George Romney was a good man. Inspirational leader, promoted freedom. We need more like him … Dad is fair game, grandpa isn't."

Kutcher wants to return to sitcom

Ashton Kutcher is interested in returning to Two and a Half Men's 10th season, the show's co-creator Lee Aronsohn told The Hollywood Reporter.

Aronsohn said CBS just had to write a big cheque to keep Kutcher on board.

"It's just a basic negotiation ... to make a deal that will allow the show to remain on the air," he said.

Last year, Kutcher signed a one-season deal to test whether he could replace Charlie Sheen on the sitcom.

Met Museum curator to video chat

The Maraya Art Centre will host a live web chat tonight with Navina Najat Haidar, a curator at the Metropolitan Museum's Department of Islamic Art in New York. Haidar will provide insight into the Met's new Islamic art galleries and discuss the contributions of Muslim artists.

The chat will be hosted at both the Dubai Pavilion art space and the Maraya Art Centre in Sharjah. It will be simultaneously broadcast on the web. Visit www.maraya.ae.

Kristen Stewart is writing a novel

The Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has started writing a novel, reported the Indo-Asian News Service. She is said to be writing the book while on the set of her latest film Snow White and the Huntsman.

According to the Daily Mail, Stewart, 21, has enlisted the help of her screenwriter mother Jules Stewart in finding a book publisher.

Aziz Ansari mows lawn in Central Park

The Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari takes his parks persona seriously. On Monday, the actor helped New York City's Central Park get ready for spring by lending a hand mowing its 15-acre Sheep Meadow on a riding lawnmower. He mowed about an acre of the lawn.

The city is reopening all of its park lawns and ball fields on Saturday.
