J’Adore, one of the maison’s most iconic fragrances, is an homage to Christian Dior’s love of flowers. The L’Or version of this famous scent costs Dh514,240 and is described as “an ode to noble materials” and features several floral absolutes. Absolutes are the outcome of a complicated extraction process that results in aromatic oils that are more concentrated and fragrant than those produced through other forms of distillation.

J’Adore L’Or features Rose de Mai and Grasse Jasmine Absolute, which come from flowers that are harvested at Domaine de Manon and exclusively reserved for Dior. The climactic conditions of these flower fields in Grasse, France, which are located between the sea and the mountains, are said to give these flowers a distinct and original character.

The perfume’s base notes consist of the sweet, smooth Tonka Bean Absolute and the tender Tahiti Vanilla Absolute blossom, which together

with patchouli, drops of labdanum and amber notes, give the fragrance a sensual, Oriental feel.

For the new J’Adore L’Or Haute Joaillerie Edition, the scent is housed in a bottle crafted by a Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, an honour only awarded to the country’s very best craftsmen. The master glassmaker crafts the bottle out of hand-blown Baccarat crystal, while the elegant neck is made from solid gold at the Dior Haute Joaillerie workshop and encircled with a delicate gold chain interspersed with diamonds.

The crystal stopper is also set with a slender ring of bezel-cut diamonds. The overall look is reminiscent of the bejewelled gown worn by Charlize Theron in her stunning advertising campaign for Dior.

Only five bottles of the new J’Adore L’Or Haute Joaillerie Edition are available worldwide.
