The UAE’s street culture festival Sole DXB will return next month. The annual footwear-themed event – which celebrates outdoor urban pursuits including hip-hop, graffiti art and basketball – will be back at Dubai Design District on November 20 and 21, following last year’s move to the new site. Earlier editions were hosted in Al Alerkal Avenue, where the event grew from a “sneaker summit” geek-out, into a wider celebration of street and block party culture.
We’ve been promised a heathy soundtrack with four international headline acts, a live basketball tournament and the unveiling of a new art installation.
Meanwhile a series of talks will explore street culture’s relevance today, with Rock Steady Crew DJ Bobbito García signed up to speak.
And if you’re into trainers, new products are expected to be unveiled from leading sports brands, while 15 regional enthusiasts will share their collections.
