Korea has been a front-runner in the cosmetics industry for decades, so if it’s big in Korea, rest assured, it’s going to be trending worldwide. This weekend, the Korea Festival will introduce new skincare and cosmetic lines from companies such as KGC Life & Gin and Clio, which is endorsed by K-pop sensation Wonder Girls, as well as singer Lee Hyo Lee and actress Kim Ha-neul.
Visitors will be offered complimentary samples of products yet to be introduced to the Emirates, including KGC Life & Gin cosmetics that feature red ginseng, an ingredient used in Korea for more than 4,000 years.
“Red Ginseng has been traditionally used to make natural facial soap. Our popular Llang Redgin Magic Oil essence (Dh117) and Donginbi Red Ginseng Daily Aging Preparation Essence (Dh400), are being presented at the Korean Festival,” says KGC Life & Gin’s spokeswoman Christina Kim. “They have been produced using very special technology to extract six-year-old red ginseng essential ingredients, which are effective for moisturising and known for their anti-ageing properties.”
With Korean cosmetics companies such as The Face Shop and Missha already have a loyal customer base in the UAE, KGC Life & Gin are “hoping to enter the UAE market very soon”. Clio’s range of trendy make-up is already available at Karji Perfumes in Dubai. Packages are decorated with cool Korean art.
