Star Trek fans at this year's Middle East Film and Comic Con are being given a unique photo opportunity in the chair from the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise used by Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) during Star Trek Beyond's shot in Dubai last year, courtesy of Dubai Film and TV Commission.
For added authenticity, Spock ears will also be available for visitors to the mini Star ship Enterprise set.
Star Trek Beyond shot for two weeks in Dubai last October at locations including JLT, DIFC and Meydan, as well as DFTC's Studio City sound stage, and all the movie's main cast including Pine, Simon Pegg (Scotty) and Karl Urban (Dr "Bones" McCoy were in town for the shoot. The film is due to release in July this year.
Jamal Al Sharif, DFTC chair, said: “We were delighted that through this event, we were able to provide Star Trek fans with an opportunity to interact with elements from the film before its release, giving them a sneak peek of what was filmed here.”
