Shortlist for Sheikh Zayed Book Awards in Literature and Children’s Literature announced



The judging panel of the 11th Sheikh Zayed Book Awards has announced the shortlisted nominees in the Literature and Children’s Literature categories for this year’s awards.

The nominations for Literature are Alwah (Tablets), by Lebanese author Rashid Al-Daif; Khareef al Bara'a (The Autumn of Innocence), by Lebanese author Abbas Beydoun, and Fi Fami Lu'lu'a (A Pearl in My Mouth), by Emirati author Maisoon Saqer.

The Children's Literature nominations, meanwhile, are Al Manzel al Azraq (the Blue House), by Egyptian author Samah Ezzat; Bila qubba'a (Hatless), by Kuwaiti Lateefa Buti, and Al Zi'ba Um Kaseb (Umm Kaseb, the She-Wolf) by Syrian Lina Al Hasan.

Nominations in other categories will be announced in the coming weeks, with the awards set to be held in April.

The Sheikh Zayed Book Awards is one of the most prestigious literary awards in the Arab World. It was founded in 2007, and offers total prize money worth around Dh7million.
