Ekta Kapoor opposes new Dirty Picture

The filmmaker Trishul has titled his next Kannada film The Dirty Picture, but fellow director Ekta Kapoor has filed a complaint against it. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) cleared the title of the film, which will reportedly star the Pakistani actress Veena Malik. Kapoor, who produced last year's Viday Balan-starrer The Dirty Picture in Hindi under her studio Balaji Telefilms, has written a letter to the KFCC requesting it withdraws its permission. Meanwhile, Trishul said he won't change the title and is prepared for a legal battle. "We have legally obtained clearance. Why should we change the title now?" he said. "The title may just remind the viewer of a Hindi film with the same name. That is all. My story is original and realistic. It does not have even an iota of similarity with the Hindi film." * IANS
