A new song by the Rolling Stones, one of two included in their new Grrr! greatest hits album, was released on Thursday. Doom and Gloom, recorded in Paris over the summer, is currently available as a digital download via iTunes. Grrr! will be released on November 12 and will also include another new song - One Last Shot. Both songs are the result of the band's first recording in seven years. Girls Aloud announce their comeback
The English-Irish girl pop group Girls Aloud have announced that they are reuniting on October 19. The group, who mark their 10th anniversary next month, have posted a countdown clock on their website. Members Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Cheryl Cole have reportedly shot a video for their comeback single. Lohan fights mum, insists she is sober and happy
Police were called to Lindsay Lohan's childhood home in Long Island, New York, on Wednesday after a fight between the actress and her mother. It was the third run-in involving the actress and the New York police in recent weeks. The celebrity website TMZ reported that the mother and daughter left a Manhattan nightclub at 4am. When an argument that started in the car became physical when they got home, police were called. Asked to comment, Lohan said: "I'm sober, happy and healthy and I'm really regretful about the argument that I had with my mother. I said very hurtful things in the heat of the moment. Stallone and Twilight star in Rome film festival
Sylvester Stallone will take to the red carpet at Rome's 2012 film festival, which will host 59 world premieres including the hotly awaited final part of the Twilight saga. The festival, which runs from November 9 to 17, will open with the Tajik director Bakhtyar Khudojnazarov's magical epic Waiting for the Sea and close with Catalan Cesc Gay's ironic comedy A Gun in Each Hand. Among the directors scheduled to attend is Roman Coppola, with his comedy A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III starring Bill Murray and Charlie Sheen. Quentin Tarantino, who recently completed Django Unchained, may turn up as "a big surprise", said the organisers. * AFP
Friday Night Lights' writer accuses Romney of plagiarism
The creator of TV's Friday Night Lights is accusing Mitt Romney of plagiarising a phrase from the show to use as a campaign slogan. Peter Berg wrote a letter to Romney on Friday saying he is "not thrilled" that the Republican candidate is using the phrase "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose" on campaign posters and his Facebook page. On the TV show, a football coach uses the phrase to inspire his players. The writer, director and actor thanked the governor for supporting the show but said: "Please come up with your own campaign slogan." * AP
