After our magical experience last weekend at The Galleria’s Outdoor Movie Nights on Al Maryah Island, you’ll have to fight us for a spot at this weekend’s programme.
In the gorgeous warm evening air on the promenade, we kicked back in cushioned deck chairs, with free bottles of water provided, to watch Philomena followed by Breakfast at Tiffany's, introduced by an enthusiastic programmer from the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. It was one of those evenings that makes your heart swell with appreciation for Abu Dhabi when it gets things just right.
Sure, there was some noise from the restaurant terraces and children running about, but no more distractions than your usual UAE cinemas, and plus, it’s all free.
This weekend's line-up includes the Emirati film Sea Shadow (Thursday at 7.30), Singin' in the Rain (Friday at 7.30pm), The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (Friday at 9.30pm) and To Catch a Thief (Saturday at 9.30pm).
