A new teaser video is adding fresh fuel to the mounting excitement for Trevor Noah's first night hosting The Daily Show. The South African comic will take over the reigns presenting the popular American current affairs show on September 28, following longterm host Jon Stewart's resignation earlier this month.
Noah, 31, was a surprise appointment and fans have been eager to see how he rises to the challenge. The new spot gives little away, and shows Noah flexing his fists anxiously, sporting a suave grey suit. See for yourself at Noah's official page.
A UAE favourite who has performed at Dubai's Ductac several times, Noah was in the emirates when he received the news he would replace Stewart, a moment he recounts in a recent episode of Jerry Seinfeld's web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
Stewart, 52, meanwhile has announced his first major gig following the close of his 16-year tenure on the show – hosting wrestling event WWE SummerSlam.
