New Hollywood hangout and karaoke hotspot Blind Dragon opens at Dubai’s Al Habtoor City

Looking for somewhere to sing your heart out? Dubai’s latest karaoke hotspot could be Blind Dragon, a new lounge bar which landed at Al Habtoor City direct from sunny Hollywood.

Not one for the novice or naturally shy, the venue’s blurb is shouting loudly about its “Sing or Die” private Karaoke suites. Yikes.

Aside from these intimidating, hi-tech hideouts, the hype loftily promises the “anything goes” vibe of a “modern-day risqué speakeasy”. Well, we all know what happened last time an Asian-themed “speakeasy” opened on Sheikh Zayed Road (yes Nippon, we’re looking at you – entering through the fake bookcase didn’t feel quite so special after you put that big neon sign outside).

However, with the clout of an international brand behind it – this is a sister venue to the Blind Dragon found on Sunset Strip – hopefully this new opening will be one of those rare beasts that actually live up to the hype.
