Lamia Asudari on her collection at Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience

The Saudi designer Lamia Asudari’s spring/summer 2015 collection is awash with dusky mauves, aquamarines and bow motifs

Why participate in VFDE this year?

It's a great platform and introduces me to new markets and, more importantly, being a part of the Vogue Italia team is super exciting.

How does VFDE differ from other domestic platforms?

It provides mentoring and a sales platform. Having the advice and guidance of Sara Miano – who is head of talent at Vogue Italia – is priceless and will be appreciated by all of us.

Describe your forthcoming presentation.

My “come undone” SS15 collection is all about bows and the notion of untying the past. It is a playful collection that provides many variations of how we see a bow. Rockabilly and 1940s inspirations appear in silhouette, connecting past and present.

Which talks at VFDE ’14 are you most keen to attend?

If I can manage it, I’ll be in all of them.

What’s on the cards for your label Asudari in 2015?

Expansion and preparing for new ventures, new markets. I am currently working on my AW15 prints and embroideries in preparation for Paris Couture Week and I’ve just launched

asudarishop.com where clients can purchase directly from my studio. I've also been busy with the Asudari bridal range, which includes a beautiful bespoke vintage-lace wedding dress for a client, which I'm excited to see her in. It's felt like a marathon race this year and by the looks of it, 2015 will also be jam packed.
