Irrfan Khan to star in film by Meghna Gulzar

Meghna Gulzar, the daughter of the famous Bollywood lyricist Gulzar and the actress Raakhee, will direct a film starring Irrfan Khan. “Meghna’s film will be written by Vishal Bhardwaj. It will have Irrfan Khan in the lead role. The title is not yet confirmed,” sources told the Press Trust of India. Meghna made her directorial debut with Filhaal in 2002, starring the former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and the Bollywood actress Tabu. Her second movie, Just Married, was released in 2007. She also directed a short, titled Pooranmasi, for Sanjay Gupta’s film Dus Kahaniyaan that same year.

Remo D’Souza to direct Karan Johar film

The choreographer and filmmaker Remo D’Souza’s next directorial venture will be co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and if all goes to plan, John Abraham will headline the cast of the yet-untitled film. D’Souza, who started his career as a dancer and went on to become a choreographer before trying his hand at direction with ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) and F.A.L.T.U, confirmed the development. Asked if it is going to be all song and dance like in his previous films, the director said: “Of course not, I can also do an action film. In fact, this film will be loaded with action.” Though Abraham was not available for comment, a source said that Abraham is in talks with Johar and D’Souza, but has not yet signed a contract. –
