As summer approaches, you’ll be looking for ways to beat the heat indoors and out. Here are some quick, effective tips for keeping your home cool this season.

Make sure you give your air conditioning a test run by turning it on and running it properly before summer begins. This will ensure it’s working properly ahead of time. Have an air-conditioning tune-up done in advance. This helps ensure the refrigerant levels are normal and your system is running smoothly, which in turn prevents any hike in your electricity bills once summer really sets in.

Be patient – keep the temperature of your air-conditioning unit at 24 degrees and allow a little bit of time for it to cool the room. To keep your utility bill stable, have your filters cleaned three times per year.

Reduce energy within the home by replacing standard light bulbs with energy-saving bulbs, which will not only reduce energy consumption and cost but also reduce the amount of heat radiated from the light bulbs in your home.
