Get those creative juices flowing to create a quirky kite to fly at Anantara’s second Annual Kite Festival next month.

After their inaugural festival that saw 250 participants last year, the hotel has organised a bigger competition on Sir Bani Yas Island on February 3. At 11am, hundreds of registered families are expected to fly their handmade whimsical kites high at the Desert Islands Resort and Spa’s beach in an attempt to keep them up till the wind blows. Participants will also be able to feast on a sausage sizzle spread and children and teenagers can join the beach games by Adventure HQ including, kayaking and archery. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative kites, along with a special gift for the best kite shaped like an animal.

Entry is free for the hotel’s guests and visitors can access the festival for Dh150, with children entering for Dh100. The package includes boat transfer and transportation on the island to the event, food, entertainment and a kite kit.
