Heavy metal veterans Black Sabbath have postponed two shows on their final world tour after singer Ozzy Osbourne, 67, fell ill. The band said he has “extreme sinusitis”.
Sabbath started their tour on January 20 in Omaha, Nebraska, and had played four shows in the United States and Canada before cancelling the gigs in Edmonton and Calgary.
The tour will resume in Vancouver tomorrow. In addition to US and Canadian dates, the band will also play in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, leading up to what is billed as their last-ever show on September 21 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The British band, whose first album was released in 1970, has vowed that the tour is their last, naming it The End. Previous plans for a final tour were put on hold over concerns about the health of guitarist Tony Iommi, who has suffered from lymphoma. – AFP
