Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate returns
The second season of Aamir Khan's TV show Satyamev Jayate is getting a second season. The chat show, which takes on social problems prevalent in India, was launched last year. The second season was to be broadcast earlier this year but was postponed because Khan had to finish filming the action thriller Dhoom 3, out in December. Now, sources say that the research for the next instalment has started and the show is likely to be broadcast in January next year. "Aamir will be promoting Dhoom 3 and working on his show simultaneously," said a source. Satyamev Jayate was broadcast on Sunday morning simultaneously on Star Plus and Doordarshan. The show has stirred up controversy by tackling previously taboo subjects such as child abuse, female infanticide and domestic abuse. – The National staff
Satya 2 release postponed to November 8
Ram Gopal Varma's Satya 2, which was scheduled to be released today, will now come out on November 7 in the UAE. The date was moved after differences between the filmmaker and the producers Arun Sharma. The Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been actively promoting the film, which stars the newcomers Puneet Singh, Anaika Soti and Aradhana Gupta. Bachchan said on his blog that Varma's sequel to the 1998 film Satya was "most impressive". He wrote: "A quick visit to a party organised by Ram Gopal Verma, which has to be historic in concept because he never goes to one and never gives one … but he wanted me to be present for the introduction of Satya 2 and may I say it was most impressive. An entire new cast and an entire new thought on the story. All the young talent looked and were seen to be doing well. I wish them all success." – The National staff
