Bran Castle may be the most famous castle property in the world. Sitting on a solid rock promenade in Romania, the ominous mansion is affectionately known as "Dracula's Castle," even though the connection to Bram Stoker's legend is tenuous.
According to the story, Count Vlad Tepes, better known as "Vlad the Impaler," once stayed in the castle. The count and his evil ways apparently provided some inspiration for Stoker's character.
But the Transylvania castle looks like Dracula's castle should look, which is why it has become a popular tourist destination.
It's also been for sale for years. As noted in this week's Industry Insights feature, there has never been a better time to buy a castle. Prices are coming down. And there are plenty of estates available.
But few compare to Dracula's castle. No one is quite sure of the asking price, which has been reported as anywhere from 40 million euro to 90 million euro (Dh204mn-Dh460mn).
To better assess the value, a video tour of the castle can be fund here.
