Dubai’s GQ Bar has a new resident thanks to the Fame Music DJ Contest, the largest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) competition held in the region to date.

Hundreds of tracks by aspiring DJs and producers were entered in the competition, with only 25 selected to go before a panel of industry experts who selected 10 finalists to be voted on by the public at the final in Dubai. The winning track was I Fall by Jack Diaz.

“It is a big dream that came true”, said Diaz, aka Carlo Servodio from Italy. “I can’t wait to arrive in Dubai, build on this and really take my music as far as possible”.

Servodio won a residency at GQ Bar, plus a flight and one month of fully-paid accommodation in Dubai. In addition, his winning track will be released on all major international digital distribution platforms.

The Fame Music DJ Contest considers itself the definitive stage for EDM talent on a global scale and has 30,000 users registered on its online portal, alongside a panel that includes industry professionals such as electronic duo Hollaphonic and Dan Greenpeace, the chief executive and founder of All City Music.

Diaz will make his GQ debut at an invite-only event on September 15.
