Kai Greene is a man of many talents: he's perhaps best known for his award-laden bodybuilding career, but he also appeared in season two of hit Netflix show Stranger Things, as the character Funshine.

On top of that, he's found time to create and illustrate his own comic book series, which is what brings him to the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) in Dubai this April.

The founder of Dynamic Muscle Comics will be muscling his way in to the popular culture convention at the Dubai World Trade Centre next month, to meet his fans and give up-and-coming artists tips on how to create their own comics.

Greene grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and took up bodybuilding when he was a young boy in the seventh grade at high school. It was only last year, in October, that he unveiled his first graphic novel, but it took off quickly.

The debut is set in Tricari and follows protagonist and hero King Kai, the "ultimate warrior" whose goal is to save the world by uniting tribes and dethroning an evil regime led by King Kutallah.

"Kai is a fantastic example of how popular culture resonates with people of all shapes and sizes," says MEFCC event manager Michael Lamprecht. "Having firmly established himself as a personality in bodybuilding, he made his superhero dreams become a reality through comics."

Greene joins an all-star line-up for this year's event, which includes Luke Cage's Mike Colter, The Arrow's Kate Cassidy, The Walking Dead's Ross Marquand, Shazam! actor Zachary Levi and Filipino cosplay star Alodia Gosiengfiao.

The event takes place from April 11-13 and tickets are now on sale at platinumlist.net and Virgin Megastores.
