The 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards will be available to watch on OSN this year.

Taking place on September 19 in Los Angeles, the 73rd annual Emmy Awards will be broadcast in the UAE on OSN in the early hours of September 20. The ceremony will be shown at the same time as the live event.

The Emmys, which celebrate the best television and on-demand streaming shows released between June 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021, will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.

In the Mena region, the pre-ceremony show will be broadcast from 2am GST on Monday, followed by the main event at 3am. Anyone who doesn't watch it live will be able to catch up via the OSN Streaming app.

The Emmys honour TV shows across more than 20 awards categories, including acting and writing, recognising comedy, drama, documentary and talk show genres.

The nominations for the 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced in July, with The Crown and The Mandalorian sweeping the board with 24 nods each. WandaVision was not far behind with 23 nominations and The Handmaid’s Tale with 21.

A number of HBO hits came out with their fair share of nominations, including Lovecraft Country, Mare of Easttown and I May Destroy You, with 18, 16 and seven nominations, respectively. All three shows are available to watch on OSN Streaming, along with The Mandalorian, WandaVision and The Handmaid’s Tale.
