The Angel of Music's arrival has now been announced. The Phantom of the Opera will make its Middle Eastern debut at Dubai Opera later this year, with shows scheduled between Wednesday October 16 and Wednesday October 30.
News that that the award-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber musical would come to the UAE was first revealed last month, with the production set to arrive in the Emirates from London this autumn.
Tickets will go on general sale on Thursday January 31, with prices starting from Dh250, rising to Dh850 for VIP seats on weekdays. Matinee performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays, with evening performances starting at 8pm. Those who pre-registered for tickets can book their seats now.
Widely renowned as the world's most popular musical, The Phantom of the Opera is the longest-running show in Broadway history, with several Tony Awards and Olivier Awards to its name.
Adapted from Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel of the same name, The Phantom of the Opera, which first opened in London's West End in 1986, tells the story of a disfigured musical genius who lurks in the depths of the Paris Opera House and falls in love with a beautiful young soprano called Christine. The musical features classics songs, such as Think of Me and The Music of the Night.
