UAE super club White Dubai is coming to Abu Dhabi Art.
The popular venue will make a pop-up appearance on Friday, November 22, at Manarat Saadiyat complete with DJs and performance.
Headlining evening will feature a performance by Canadian Lebanese singer Massari.
Born in Beirut before moving to multicultural Montreal as an 11-year-old in the aftermath of the Lebanese civil war, Massari's hip-hop and R&B tracks are the result of a cosmopolitan upbringing.
This is evident in two of his most popular tracks. Club favourite Done Da Da has a dancehall-inspired hook delivered in Jamaican patois, while Massari's smooth, sing-song rap is laced with eastern melodies that wouldn't sound out of place on a standard Arabic pop track.
Massari also collaborated with some of the biggest international and regional music personalities.
Last year he released a hip-hop version of Amr Diab's classic hit Ya Nour El Ein featuring US rapper French Montana and Lebanese singer Maya Diab. This came on the back of Roll With It, a bilingual pop track featuring Palestinian singer Mohammed Assaf.
In a 2017 interview with The National, he elaborated on how his songs eschew certain hip-hop tropes such as salacious videos and expletive lyrics.
"I am all about keeping a positive vibe, man” he said. “Myself and my team have always been keen to have my sounds to be uplifting and inspiring. There is absolutely no profanity in any way shape or form to my songs. I mean, I do understand that there could be people out there who view me as a role model.”
