The Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra are coming to Dubai Opera next year.

The acclaimed Swiss based ensemble will take the stage on April 4 with tickets going on sale from midday, September 27.

Praised for their virtuosity, the ensemble is a classical super group of sorts. It consists of the best players from various orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Led by Hungarian director Gábor Takács-Nagy and featuring the Chinese American pianist George Li as guest soloist, the Dubai show is part of a world tour celebrating the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra 25th anniversary.

“Its orchestra comprises the best of the best from an incredible array of world-class ensembles,” says Dubai Opera chief executive Jasper Hope. “It’s fantastic they’ve agreed to make a stop at Dubai Opera on their tour next April – audiences can expect a stunning programme performed live by a great orchestra of the world as well as a chance to hear a young prodigy in George Li give his interpretation of Saint-Saëns' most popular piano concerto.”
