Party in the Park: The Kooks cancel Dubai concert and Fatboy Slim moves day

Here is how the line-up shuffle affects ticket holders

Party in the Park is now taking place on just Friday, November 1, with Fatboy Slim moving into the headline slot on the Friday, sharing the bill with Lighthouse Family and Richard Ashcroft.

The change comes because British band The Kooks cancelled their Dubai appearance and so now the Thursday, October 31 concert is completely cancelled.

"Unfortunately due to injury, The Kooks lead singer Luke Pritchard will not be able to make it to Dubai for Party in the Park, meaning the band have been forced to pull out," organisers of the festival have said in a statement. "Superstar DJ Fatboy Slim will now move from Thursday to Friday night, filling the headline slot."

The Kooks have also cancelled concerts in the US and Mexico.

Concert-goers who had a ticket to see Fatboy Slim at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre festival on Thursday, October 31 now have a valid ticket for Friday, November 1 from 2pm.

A new category of tickets has also been introduced by organisers; for Dh250, dance music fans can attend from 9pm, giving them access to sets from Fatboy Slim and UAE group, Hollaphonic.

As well as live music, there will be food stalls and vans, an arts and craft market and bars to enjoy throughout the day.

On Friday, doors will be open from 2pm, when live music starts, and bars will offer a happy hour lasting until 6pm.

There are one-day tickets; day-two tickets start at Dh250 (from 9pm), Dh350 (regular), Dh499 (fan pit), Dh650 (fan pit package, which includes six drinks before 6pm), Dh999 (Park View).

Kids under 10 have free admission.
