The legendary musician Joe Cocker will perform in Dubai in May, promoters announced today.
The show, on May 22 at Al Badia Golf Club, will mark his only Middle Easter appearance, organisers said.
“Joe Cocker is a living legend and everyone here will know some of his songs, whether they grew up with his music or were exposed to it in movies and TV series” said Thomas Ovesen of Done Events, an event management company in Dubai.

Cocker is one of the few artists who have continued to perform live since his show at Woodstock in 1969.
He has released more than 20 albums and is an Academy, Golden Globe and Grammy-award winning artist. He was named by Rolling Stone magazine as among the 100 greatest singers of all time.
His latest album, Hard Knocks, was released in Europe in 2010 and made its debut on the German charts at No 1. It will be released in North America this summer.
Tickets are available beginning today and cost Dh300 and Dh500.
