The music surrounding the upcoming Abu Dhabi Showdown Week is not just limited to the two concerts held at Yas Island’s The Arena.

To celebrate next week’s sporting and entertainment extravaganza, Abu Dhabi Showdown Week has released an official theme song and accompanying video on its social media channels.

Simply titled as Abu Dhabi Showdown Week 2019 Official Song, the hip-hop track is a collaboration between rappers Daffy, from Kuwait, and the Bahraini artist Flipperachi. Over a bluesy guitar riff and Khaleeji percussion (produced by DJ Outlaw) both rappers trade Arabic and English rhymes about preparing for the big fight ahead.

The accompanying video, directed by Hussain Hammadi, is an all UAE affair. The visuals juxtapose Flipperachi and Daffy training at Dubai’s UFC Gym with day and night images of the Abu Dhabi skyline. The video ends with both artists meeting each other in the Octagon.

While no announcement has been made yet, it is expected that both artists will perform the song sometime during Abu Dhabi Showdown Week. They will join a growing list of music events, which include club parties and concerts featuring the legendary US rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers on Wednesday, August 4.

The Abu Dhabi show marks the band's second foray into the Middle East. On March 15, the Chillis performed a brilliant and expansive set at Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza. The two-hour show featured 19 songs and all the band's biggest hits including Californication, Under The Bridge and Give it Away.

The following night, Thursday, August 5, finds the Colombian pop-star J Balvin taking The Arena stage. Known as reggaeton's global ambassador, Balvin has collaborated with the likes of Cardi B on I Like It, while Beyonce featured on a remix of his hit track Mi Gente back in 2017.
