J Balvin has pulled out of his upcoming Abu Dhabi concert due to illness, organisers have said.

The Colombian reggaeton star was due to perform as part of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week on Thursday, September 5 at The Arena.

Ticket holders are eligible for full refunds, in addition to a 30 per cent discount on remaining tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on Wednesday, September 4.

In a statement released by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, Balvin’s condition was sudden and concerning enough to stop him from travelling to the UAE.

“Due to sudden illness, J Balvin has regrettably had to cancel his Abu Dhabi Showdown Week performance,” it read. “We wish J Balvin a speedy recovery. As per the ticket terms and conditions, all ticket holders are entitled to a full refund and this will be automatically refunded to the card used for purchase.”
