One of Expo 2020 Dubai’s biggest nights of music took place on Tuesday, as Coldplay brought their colourful show to the world fair’s Al Wasl Dome.

During the performance, which took place as part of Expo’s Infinite Nights music series, the four-piece band performed hits from their extensive back catalogue. A projection of BTS also floated on the dome as the band performed My Universe, their joint hit with the seven-piece K-pop sensation.

For the lucky fans who managed to get tickets to watch the concert in person, it was a night to remember.

Many people took to social media after the concert to share their experience, and it was a resounding message of joy as well as thanks to both Coldplay and Expo.

“Yesterday show was amazing!” wrote Twitter user Jamilya, sharing a video from inside Al Wasl Dome. “Thank you @coldplay! @expo2020dubai.”

Another described the show as “surreal”.

“Amazing night,” wrote @sakura_kreuze. “Still having a post-concert syndrome, Loved hearing #MyUniverse in the scene, *surreal*”

Dubai radio presenter Simon Smedley, known as Catboy, described the night as an “unforgettable experience”.

“Surprised my girls with front row at @coldplay’s #Expo2020 concert last night,” he said, sharing pictures of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. “The organisation was brilliant. The sound and lighting in Al Wasl Dome made it a singular, unforgettable experience. The band obviously delivered.”

Twitter user @rossbutter_ said: “You’re my sky full of stars. Tonight was amazing @coldplay”

Another person described seeing Coldplay live as a “bucket list” moment.

“Ticking it off the bucket list to see @coldplay perform live at the magnificent hall at Dubai Expo,” Rohan Vijay wrote.

Twitter user Raina described the night as “momentous”.

“That was momentous! Thank you @coldplay for giving us an amazing night!” she wrote.

Gemma Roberts described the performance as “phenomenal”, while Mohamad Ali Harissi called the band “the best of the best”.

Another Twitter user, Yousef, thanked Expo for putting on the show.

“Unforgettable night,” he wrote. “Thank you Expo for this amazing night.”
