Two of Bollywood's leading men make the Forbes list of highest-paid actors

Forbes has released its 2018 list of the highest paid actors and this year it features two of Bollywood's leading men, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.

Kumar was number seven with $40.5 million (Dh148.7m). During the past few years, he has focused on socially conscious roles such as Toilet - a film about the sanitation problem in India and Padman based on a true story about a man who introduced low-cost sanitary pads to the country. He endorses a slew of products from Red Label tea to Honda motorcycles and scooters.

Khan came in at number nine with $38.5m thanks movies like 2017's Tiger Zinda Hai and the many endorsements he participates in from detergent brand Wheel to Suzuki motorcycles.

George Clooney topped the list with $239m. Although he hasn't starred in a movie since 2016's Money Monster, the sale of the company he co-founded, Casamigos to British company Diageo in June 2017 made sure of his place.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was number two with an estimated $124m.

Here is the list in full:

George Clooney: $239m

Dwayne Johnson: $124m

Robert Downey Jr: $81m

Chris Hemsworth: $64.5m

Jackie Chan: $45.5m

Will Smith: $42m

Akshay Kumar: $40.5m

Adam Sandler: $39.5m

Salman Khan: $38.5m

Chris Evans: $34m
