Middle East Film & Comic Con, held in Dubai every year, is the region’s largest pop culture festival and the only large-scale consumer event for fans of comics, film and gaming entertainment on offer in the Middle East. We now know some of the stars that will be flying in for the event (last year saw <em>Game of Thrones </em>star Liam Cunningham, <em>Walking Dead </em>star Josh McDermitt,<em> Avengers</em> hero Anthony Mackie and writer and director Kevin Smith meet fans in Dubai, among others). Here are some of the stars that will be attending this year's event, which runs from April 5 to 7 at Dubai World Trade Centre... <strong>Carice Van Houten </strong> Dutch actress and singer Carice van Houten is best known for playing the mysterious Melisandre in HBO's epic TV series <em>Game of Thrones - </em>she also starred alongside Tom Cruise in <em>Valkyrie </em>and was the lead in one of the most popular Dutch films in recent history, <em>Black Book</em> (or <em>Zwartboek</em> in Dutch). Van Houten sung on the soundtrack of Black Book, and also released her own solo album, <em>See You on the Ice</em> in 2012. Here's a song from the album: <strong>Karen Gillan </strong> Scottish actress Karen Gillan is best known for playing Amy Pond in cult British TV show <em>Doctor Who. </em>Avengers<em> </em>fans will be interested to hear about her work as Nebula in this year's <em>Avengers: Infinity War</em>, which will be released this summer. She also played the deadly assassin Nebula in <em>Guardians of the Galaxy</em>. <strong>Karl Urban</strong> Kiwi actor Karl Urban has starred in both the<em> Star Trek </em>(shooting in Dubai for 2016's<em> Star Trek Beyond</em>) and <em>The Lord of the Rings </em>series, and also played Skurge in Marvel Studios' hit of 2017, <em>Thor: Ragnarok</em>. He's just finished shooting a crime thriller called<em> Bent</em> that also stars Sofia Vergara. <strong>Jason David Frank</strong> Jason David Frank is an American actor and mixed marital artist who is best known for playing Tommy Oliver and the Green and White ranger in multiple seasons of the<em> Mighty Morphon Power Rangers</em> in the '90s. His character, Tommy Oliver, has appeared in more than 200 <em>Power Rangers</em> episodes over history. He's also appeared in a range of Power Rangers spin offs over the years. <strong>Adam Kubert</strong> Comics artist Adam Kubert is known for his work for both Marvel Comics and DC Comics - from 1993 to 1996 he illustrated 17 issues of Larry Hama's <em>Wolverine</em>.
