Dubai #unseenDXB Ramadan photo exhibition - in pictures

  • English
  • Arabic

Away from the grandeur and lavishness of iftar buffets that are the prime draw for residents in the city, there is an “unseen Dubai,” hidden in the alleyways of Deira and tucked away in pockets of Naif street - that breaks the fast during Ramadan with a modest serving of dates and water.

When the adhan breaks the silence of the streets in the evening, residents of the community come together to pray and break bread in true communal fashion.

This year, Frying Pan Adventures and Gulf Photo Plus organised the #unseenDXB Photo Trail to capture the authentic Ramadan experience and treat participants to some local fare. They explored Old Dubai, while absorbing the traditions of Ramadan and captured touching moments both before and after sunset.
