Plan to attend the Upcycled Urban Market this weekend. The second instalment of the two-day market that showcases the local art scene focuses on the theme of recycled, biodegradable, natural and organic products for all items available, from great holiday gift ideas to food from Good Vibes.
Enjoy a variety of highlights including live music from Freshly Ground Sounds, live DJ sets, a painting studio by thejamjar, interactive events including The Sameness Project, a mixed-media relief printmaking workshop from the artist Heather Conyers, a pop-up shop from FN Designs, hula-hooping with Flowground, live painting and ping-pong tables at LMTD, photo seminars at Gulf Photo Plus, apop-up photograph sale and winter film screenings at the Yellow Korner, tours of the new space at Leila Heller Gallery, a female version of The Odd Couple at The Junction (7.30pm, Dh100), festive gifts from the cARTEL, and more than 50 vendors selling jewellery, fashion, upcycled homeware and vintage furniture, and an acrylic workshop with demos and canvas preparation.
