The Ramadan Majlis hosted by Sharjah Media Centre continues this week with a session focusing on the media and communications.
Dr Lana Mamkegh, Jordan’s Minister of Culture, Zeyad Baroud, the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities and Dr. Alsadeq Al-Faqeeh, the Secretary General of the Arab Thought Forum will discuss the cultural experiences of different countries and the environment and factors that contribute to that culutre.
It will be the third session of the annual event, which takes place at Sharjah’s Expo Centre after the taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan.
This year, the theme of the event is titled In the Culture of Dialogue and it began last week in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Centre.
Sunday’s session session will be moderated by the prominent Saudi media figure Turki Al Dakhil and although it will be in Arabic, simultaneous translation will be available throughout.
The first majlis of this season was on interfaith dialogue, featuring discussions between Archbishop Dr. Atallah Hanna of Jerusalem, Dr. Al Arabi Kashat from the Al Dawah Mosque in Paris and Mukhtar Aziz, Director of the Islamic World Studies Centre and President of the European Forum for Development and Dialogue. The second, Dialogue of Rhymes, featured Palestinian poet Dr. Tamim Al Barghouti speaking in a discussion moderated by journalist Barakat Al Wegyan.
