There are still a few days left of Ramadan and therefore still time to help with this marvellous project for the Al Madad Foundation.

The foundation are running a campaign throughout the month to help Syrian refugee and underprivileged children living in Mount Lebanon, Bekaa Valley, Beirut and North Lebanon with storybooks.

There are currently 10,000 children attending literacy classes who, having worked incredibly hard to develop their reading skills, have discovered a love of reading and now greatly wish to have their own book to take home with them.

These children, who are otherwise not able to attend school, will benefit immensely from having reading resources within their home and hopefully, with a little help, develop a lifelong reading habit.

Al Madad is a London-based charity committed to the promotion of literacy and education for disadvantaged children, in a bid to empower and emancipate.

* Each book costs £4 (Dh25) and although they are close to their target of 10,000 books, there is still some way to go. For more information and to donate, please contact aya@almadadfoundation.org
