The Louvre Abu Dhabi has started a membership programme to offer exclusive access including exhibit previews as well as entry to partner museums around the world, the museum said on Thursday.

The Art Club members will also receive priority booking and preferential rates for auditorium events as well as a 15 per cent discount at the museum cafe. Manuel Rabaté, Louvre Abu Dhabi director, said that the membership will allow “unparalleled access to Louvre Abu Dhabi’s exceptional collections, exhibitions, events and special programmes”.

Museum goers can choose between two 12-month packages. Membership +1, costing Dh450 which allows a member and one guest while Membership +5 will cost Dh1,500 with up to five named guests. “Members and their guests can also enjoy free admission to Musée du Louvre in Paris and other partner museums,” the museum said in a statement.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is set to open on November 11 offering a collection of artwork and artifacts from around the world. The museum will have nearly 700 exhibits on display, half of which will be in the museum’s permanent collection.
