Enrico David makes sculptures and installations that are beyond meaning. They elicit a reaction from the viewer and that reaction is the point of the artwork from this artist. Born in Italy and based in London, David was shortlisted for the 2009 Turner Prize. He is just one of several important names to be coming to Sharjah Art Foundation for the next season and I for one, am looking forward to experiencing his contorted figures in person.
