eL Seed has done it again. This time he took to the side of a building in Algiers and painted the words of the first four verses of the song Bilad Al Khayr from the popular Algerian singer Dahman Al Harrachi.

As part of the inaugural DJART event in the Algerian capital, eL Seed, who just completed a year long residency in Dubai, scaled the side of the building in Didouche Avenue with scaffolding to make his mark. DJART describes itself as "a transcultural and interdisciplinary event" and its name comes from the Arabic word for Algeria 'Djazair' and 'art' with the word 'jar' in the middle, which is another Arabic word meaning neighbour.

eL Seed says he chose Bilad Al Khayr because the the voice of the singer "is in a way the voice of the people". He continues: "The song is flattering to Algeria but at the same time condems the system," which is a duality he is interested in.
