It measures over seven metres long and it is painted entirely with tea leaves and Indian ink. Andrew Field, an Abu Dhabi-based artist, completed The Silk Route, using tea leaves from India, Africa and China as a commission for the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) to celebrate the fact that tea is one of the major traded commodities.
Soon, it will be on permanent display on the first floor lobby of the DMCC Almas Tower in Jumeriah Lake Towers.
