Eight 18-25 year old nationals and residents of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and the UK will travel to Japan in November with the Crossway Foundation and Art Jameel. They will experience one of the most inspiring cultures in the world in the latest iteration of this programme, which is a series of trips organised by the London-based organisation Crossway.

The participants will not only experience the culture but visit local artists and institutions to widen their knowledge and inspiration. This year, the group will travel under the guidance of Kuwaiti artist Dr Monira Al Qadiri.

Born in Senegal in 1983, Al Qadiri was educated in Japan and says: “It has always been my dream to share my knowledge and experience of Japanese art and culture with younger practitioners from the region. Being in Japan can stimulate the mind of any artist in a myriad of ways, and this journey can become a gateway to endless sources of inspiration for years to come.”
