In an additional boost for the region's designers, Fashion Forward Dubai have teamed up with Dubai Design Fashion Council and Samsung to create a new support strategy for these emerging artists.
With the retail sector of the Mena region said to be worth $72 billion — on par with London or Toyko, the new programme aims to help designers become more attractive and competitive, in both local and international markets.
The new programme, titled Epic, seeks to support emerging labels in the UAE through mentoring, workshops and sponsorship, as well as the opportunity to display their work at Galleries Lafayette’s pop-up store. In addition, there is scope for international exposure at a dedicated showroom during Paris Fashion Week.
This announcement comes soon after the news that the Dubai Design and Fashion Council is partnering with Vogue Arabia and Farfetch.com, for the second year, to help support the region's up and coming designers.
