Stella McCartney, long known for her cruelty free stance, offers faux fur coats for the winter season.
The coats — offering a luxurious, vintage feel — feature fibres left part loose and flowing, and part stitched into intricate patterns. Collars are high, dramatically full and face framing, while sleeves are slim fit and flare at the wrist.
McCartney is skilled at producing desirable, urbane pieces that women actually want to wear. It is easy to imagine these coats slung over skinny jeans, or shrugged on shoulders.
The timing of these pieces is equally as interesting. Elsewhere in fashion the trend is heading back to fur being acceptable once more, so it is good to see a high profile designer providing a quality alternative.
