ABU DHABI // Emirates is expanding its capacity to Morocco with an Airbus A380.

The airline, which has pinned its growth strategy to the double-decker aircraft, is to replace the Boeing 777-300ER that it runs on its daily route between Dubai and Casablanca on March 26 next year. The route will be the first in North Africa to be serviced by an A380.

The change brings capacity on the route to 491 seats a day in a three-class configuration, including 401 seats in economy, 76 in business and 14 in first class. It also brings the flight’s cargo capacity to 12 tonnes per day.

The flight will be the first commercial A380 service to North Africa and depart Dubai at 7.25am and arrive in Casablanca at 12.55pm.

The return leg will leave Morocco’s largest city at 2.55pm, arriving in Dubai the following day at 1.25am.
