For far too long, most yoga enthusiasts in the UAE have to stockpile their yoga gear during vacation visits to the West from the likes of Lululemon and Sweaty Betty.
But no longer. It's welcome, welcome news that yApparel has opened on the second floor of the Jumeirah Centre in Dubai. The shop brings in of-the-moment brands not available anywhere else in the country, or only available in very limited supply.
That includes the gorgeous London-based brand Wellicious, which stocks not only lovely, light and stretchy yoga and pilates clothes perfect for the UAE heat and available in soft shades and basic colours, but stylish and comfortable loungewear too. There are funky but functional designs from Tonic (the Peak Cutout leggings, Dh375, are pictured), fun offerings from the Himilayan-born YOGASMOGA and all the crazy-patterned leggings you can handle from the Brazilian company Liquido.
