The 11th edition of the Cartier International Dubai Polo Challenge 2015 concluded with a thrilling 8-4 win for the Desert Palm team this weekend.

Around 500 glamorous guests attended the four-chukka match at Ali Albwardy’s Desert Palm Resort & Polo Club, with socialite and model Bianca Brandolini watching from the royal box before presenting the victors with a Cartier trophy.

The Desert Palm team featured polo players Tariq Albwardy and Rashid Al Habtoor, while their valiant opponents Habtoor Polo, comprised Rashid’s brother Mohammed Al Habtoor and Stuart Wrigley.

The event was held under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein and in the presence of Laurent Gaborit, Managing Director of Cartier Middle East and India.

VIP invitees at the polo match were treated to a sumptuous three course meal before players saddled-up. Omani lobster with sun-dried tomato tartar was the standout starter, followed by a main course of Angus beef tenderloin with butternut squash purée, and a tartlette trio for desert.
