Ajman v Emirates
Sitting at the top of Group B with seven points from three games, the defending champions Ajman will be looking to take a step closer to securing a place in the quarter-finals. “We want to stay at the top of the group and make sure we keep the momentum going after the 3-2 win at Al Dhafra in the last round,” said Abdulwahab Abdulqadir, the Ajman coach.
Al Nasr v Al Dhafra
Kicking off the season with three defeats in their first four matches was hardly the ideal start for Al Nasr, but one team official is confident the Dubai club have turned a corner and aim to showcase that tonight in their second Group B game against Al Dhafra. “We have been improving game by game,” said Mohammed Ibrahim, the administrative manager of the team. “I believe the team has gained in confidence and they have started showing their true potential.”
Al Ain v Sharjah
After starting his reign with a 3-1 win at Al Shaab last Friday, Quique Sanchez Flores will be looking for further evidence his Al Ain team have escaped their early season slump when they host Sharjah tonight. “For me, the most important thing in this match is to find out the extent of improvement in the performance of the players and to see what they learnt from the training sessions,” the new Al Ain manager said.
